Shouji Oki

Born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan
Also known as Syoji Oki or Shoji. He studied oil painting at Tokyo Art School, the highest of all art schools in Japan, but couldn't complete the course, because he had to go to the Second World War front halfway through school.
After demobilization, he started contributing covers and illustrations to Japanese pulp mags published in Osaka near his home. In 1955 he moved to Tokyo again, and had worked as a main illustrator for "Uramado", a pioneer of Japanese BDSM mags, before the mag folded in 1965. The 1970's was just the best days of his career as an artist. He provided plenty of illustrations, covers, and comics for numbers of BDSM mags over that period. In the middle of the 1980's he left BDSM field and devoted himself to illustrating a serial story on a sports paper, but he has come back to the genre (BDSM) recently.
The Book "Jonen Garou", what you can see here, is an artbook of the following artists: Ozuma Yoko, Maeda Juan, Kato Kahoru, Shouji Oki, and Muku Youji.
